With the arrival of Uber in France and the multiple legal concerns that this event has led to the development of smartphone applications to quickly order a VTC (Vehicle with Driver). From now on, several companies have developed on the same model, each one offering a smartphone application allowing to order its own driver, so it was logical that applications of motorcycle taxi applications have been created since their status was legalized in April 2011. But what exactly do these applications allow, and what is the reason for their success
Motorcycle cab apps allow you to order a driver and his vehicle in record time to take you through city traffic, or during rush hour on the highway, to save you a maximum of time on your trips.
These agencies are designed to be as user-friendly as possible, and for good reason: their entire business model is based on the use of these applications.
All the agencies operating on this model have been confronted with the same difficulty: although the status does mention the activity of cab, it is forbidden to park while displaying one's status as a motorcycle cab driver in order to find customers as licensed cab drivers do. It is also forbidden to charge the fare according to a meter that would increment as the trip lengthens: the price for the transport must be announced before the validation on the motorcycle cab application.
Since everything happens on the application, it must be as sophisticated as possible, and ensure the easiest user experience.
The motorcycle cab applications all offer the same basic service: the ability to order a ride from anywhere near your current location to your destination. When ordering your ride, the application will announce several important details, which you will have to validate before the nearby drivers are notified. Like a quote, you will be notified of the estimated travel time, the total cost of the trip, and the time it will take for a driver to pick you up. If all this information seems correct, you can confirm the pickup, and a driver will be notified of your order. You will then be geolocated in relation to each other until you meet at the agreed meeting point.
Another common point between all these apps is the possibility to rate your driver and your passenger in order to establish an overall rating that will be used by other users of the app. In both cases, adopt your best behavior!
