How to become an independent motorcycle cab?

motorcycle taxi is a job that is becoming more and more popular: customers are looking forward to the possibility of crossing any city quickly during rush hour, and therefore count on shorter travel times. Nevertheless, there is a detail that bothers, that of becoming dependent on an agency that takes a significant part of the profits made each day. So, how to become an independent motorcycle cab? This is what we will see by looking at the professional status of motorcycle cabs.

The fundamental condition to become a motorcycle cab

Before discussing the different statuses under which it is possible to become a motorcycle cab, we must address the sine qua non of the profession: the physical fitness certificate. Also called professional card for motorcycle cabs, it is the only one that allows you to practice this profession. It can be delivered to you by your prefecture provided that you have followed a recognized motorcycle cab training course.
There are several training courses that you can join in order to become a motorcycle cab, provided by professional organizations. They are generally accessible from a few years after obtaining your motorcycle license, generally between 3 and 5 years. If you have had a motorcycle license for more than 10 years, and have practiced the activity of motorcycle cab for a full year before the regularization of the status in April 2011, you can also justify the automatic obtaining of the professional card provided that you can present 12 pay slips that attest to this.
Thereafter, if you meet the necessary conditions, you can practice this profession. These conditions are :
- To have the certificate of aptitude of taxi-moto
- To have a valid license A and having 6 points or more,
- To have a criminal record without any conviction for theft, violence, fraud or drug offences. All that remains is to know which status to take to practice.

The different statuses for a motorcycle cab driver

The status you adopt in order to become a motorcycle cab depends largely on your vision of the profession. If you want to be totally independent, the best thing to do is to create a SARL, which means that you create your own company, like an autoentrepreneur. It is possible to be only liberal, in independence again, or simply to take the status of autoentrepreneur.

Creating a SARL: the choice of complete independence

Creating a limited liability company has several advantages, among which the possibility of exercising your profession in the most complete independence. You will have to develop your own clientele, but in exchange you will be able to obtain a partial reimbursement of the obligatory expenses due to your professional activity: gas and maintenance of your vehicle. This is the preferred status for those who wish to be completely independent, without any attachment to a motorcycle cab agency, even if this is possible.

The liberal status

The liberal status does not allow the same type of independence as the creation of a limited liability company, but offers incomparable advantages: you will be affiliated with a motorcycle cab agency, but you will keep a maximum of independence. This is the most advantageous status for a person wishing to become a motorcycle cab, as you will be reimbursed almost entirely for the cost of your vehicle in exchange for a small portion of your monthly earnings.
Your affiliation to this agency also promises you a clientele already established, and therefore increased visibility compared to the independence of a limited liability company which requires you to make a name for yourself. It is therefore the status that best minimizes your expenses while increasing your earnings. Many motorcycle cab agencies are in the process of recruiting, so if you have your professional card or if you meet the conditions to obtain it, you will not have to wait long to have a job in partial independence.

The status of autoentrepreneur

This is the least burdensome status for self-employment.
